Half French, half English, Laura has been listening to rock since she was born, but it was as a teenager that she decided to start playing the guitar and devote herself to her new passion. In 2010, she met Mathieu Albiac, also a guitarist. It was following this merger that the group was born a few years later. Their first album Hard Blues Shot (2017) raises Laura to the rank of essential rock guitarist/singer in France.
Two years later, after hundreds of concerts across Europe, in renowned halls and festivals, Laura Cox returns with her second album Burning Bright. The common denominator of the 10 tracks on the album? Laura Cox’s immense talent for composing and performing explosive and catchy songs from the first listen.
Her lively and effective compositions are enhanced by a unique, feminine and assured voice, but nevertheless leave a privileged place for guitar and solos. Since her debut on Youtube in 2008, Laura Cox has established herself as one of the great female figures of the guitar on the internet. In keeping with the times, she was one of the first to handle 2.0 tools and more particularly Youtube. Fed up with the sound of Johnny Cash and Dire Straits, Laura gradually discovers all this country, folk and rock culture thanks to her English father, then begins the guitar late in life, in 2005 at the age of 14. She quickly made a name for herself on the net thanks to her covers of great rock classics and legendary solos; she will also receive the compliments of the legend of the blues, Joe Bonamassa. The desire to travel the roads and fully live the rock & roll experience being more and more great, Laura Cox finally decided to move from 'virtual to real' by founding her group: The Laura Cox Band.
